Optometry Tomorrow 2006 A Truly Interactive Experience for the South West!

13 December 2005

The emphasis for Optometry Tomorrow 2006 will be on ‘Learning through Interaction’ with the entire workshop programme devoted to this. Workshops have been separated into three unique formats - Clinical Skill Workshops, Case-Study Workshops and Question and Answer Workshops:

Interactive Clinical Skill Workshops
These popular workshops will include the following topics – Peripheral Retina, Blurred Vision, Incomitant Eye Movements and Slit Lamp Biomicroscopy. Delegates will have the chance for hands-on experience with slit lamps, fundus cameras, the Optomap system, prism bars and occluders. Each of these workshops will provide 1.5 CET Credit Points and will be limited to fifteen delegates per session in order to assure a one-to-one ‘hands-on’ learning experience.

Interactive Case-Study Workshops
These workshops will focus on patient case histories in order to bring the topics to life. Workshop titles include Headaches and Nutritional Supplements, and a Flashes and Floaters themed workshop will even encourage delegates to interact with their local viteoretinal surgeons prior to the event! These workshops will all carry 1 CET Credit Point.

Interactive Question and Answer Workshops
These workshops will take a more traditional lecture style format, however delegates will be encouraged to question the facilitator during each session. Topics include Overlays, Colorimetry and Dyslexia, and Record Keeping. These workshops will carry at least 1 CET Credit Point.

College Marketing Manager, Richard Gott, commented ‘A great deal of thought has gone into the 2006 Workshop Programme, and I believe the topics and workshop formats complement each other extremely well. Workshop places have been limited in order for delegates to gain the most out of each session and delegates can look forward to a truly interactive experience.’

The event, which will take place on 2 and 3 April 2006 at the Bristol Marriott Hotel City Centre and will carry up to 13.5 CET Credit Points, is likely to be one of the biggest optometric events the South West has seen in recent years.
