Committee Fundraising Events a Great Success
Committee Fundraising Events a Great Success
26 August 2005
Two of Fight for Sight’s regional committees held fundraising events over the summer, raising over £4,000 between them.
Fight for Sight’s Northampton Committee held a Marquee Lunch last month raising over £1,000 for the charity.
75 people came to the lunch, which was held in Northampton Chair’s Margaret Jack’s grounds in Creaton, Northamptonshire. Along with the lunch, two stables were turned into an art gallery and there were stalls selling lavender, pottery and wrapping paper and cards.
Fight for Sight also had a stall to offer information about the charity.
Margaret said: “We were very pleased with how it went – lots of different people came and we were very lucky with the weather!”
In Bath, Fight for Sight’s Committee held their annual Big Band Evening earlier this month at Committee Chairman Eric Snook’s house in Midford. It was the 11th such event and raised over £3,000.
Head of Fundraising Annu Mayor said: “The work of our committees is very important to us – both in terms of raising funds and awareness. We really appreciate all the hard work they put into events such as this one – we couldn’t manage without them!”
