College launches Peer Review Group Programme

The College is pleased to announce the launch of a new Peer Review Group Programme an umbrella scheme designed to help small groups register with CETOptics and obtain CET points.

Introduction To Supervision Roadshows, June 2006

The College will be hosting four one-day roadshows in June, entitled An Introduction to Supervision. We will be covering all aspects of supervision with a focus on the Scheme for Registration of UK -Trained Optometrists, which is currently in its first live year.

Kevin Lewis takes over College Presidency

At the Council Meeting following yesterdays Annual General Meeting, Kevin Lewis took over from David Cartwright as President of the College of Optometrists. Rob Hogan was elected as Vice President. Each will serve a term of two years.

GOC announces formal consultation on CET rules amendments

The General Optical Council announced a formal consultation on draft amendments to the Continuing Education and Training (CET) rules this week. The Council does not propose any major changes to its rules for the next cycle, beginning 1 January 2007.
