College Council Nominations Draw Record Response

30 October 2006

College Council nominations closed this week resulting in a requirement for ballots in five regions – London, North West, Scotland, South East and South West. Following these elections, there will be a full complement of 35 regionally elected Council Members.

Commenting on the response to the call for nominations, College President, Kevin Lewis said “I’m delighted with this response. When we designed the new College governance structure, we did so based on Member feedback but without really knowing how well it would be received. The number of Members applying to become a Council Member this year, resulting in a Council with full regional representation shows how just successful our new approach has been. I look forward to welcoming new Council Members at the AGM on 12 March”.

College Members in those regions where a ballot is required will receive their voting papers shortly. The ballot will close on 20 November.
