RNIB highlight the importance of regular eye examinations

27 January 2006

The College is pleased to support the RNIB’s Open Your Eyes campaign to bring an end to preventable sight loss in the UK by 2020.

The campaign launch at an event in the Houses of Parliament on 24 January was attended by College Bryony Pawinska, Lesley-Anne Alexander and Lord Jenkin

representatives and we have agreed to distribute

campaign posters and leaflets to our Members with February’s issue of Optometry in Practice.

RNIB have called on the Government to invest in a large-scale eye health awareness campaign, improved community and hospital eye services and improved

support for those who have experienced sight loss.
