Re-organisation of Strategic Health Authorities (SHAs) in England - update

On Wednesday 12 April Secretary of State for Health, Patricia Hewitt, announced a reorganisation of Strategic Health Authorities (SHAs) in England.

 

The number of SHAs will be reduced from 28 to 10 on 1 July 2006.  The number of PCTs in England will be reduced from 303 to 152. This is anticipated to happen in October 2006.
