A number of optometric board members are retiring from the Local Health Boards in the near future, this presents an opportunity to become a non-officer member of the LHB and shape the strategic future of healthcare in the local communities.
Local Health Boards (LHBs) were established as statutory bodies in 2003 as part of the Welsh Assembly Government’s reorganization of the NHS in Wales. LHBs aim to maximize the health and well being of the people of the area through identifying the health needs of local residents and securing health services to meet those needs.
