College Six Run For Fight For Sight

15 July 2008

Six Members of the College of Optometrists’ Council recently completed a 10k run in aid of Fight for Sight, the leading national charity dedicated to funding research into the causes, diagnosis and prevention of blindness and the treatment of eye disease.

The College team, led by College Councillor for the West Midlands, Francesca Marchetti comprised Scott Mackie, Tony Trowsdale, Kamlesh Gohill, Sanjay Patel and Jane Macnaughton. They completed the 10k race on Sunday 6 July.

Money is still coming in but the team expect to raise almost £2500 for the charity. Commenting on their achievement Francesca Marchetti said “This is the first College run we’ve organised, but it definitely won’t be the last! It was a fantastic experience, the atmosphere around the course was great and I’m absolutely delighted with how well we all did and the support we received”.
