On-line Catalogue

  Mobius Screen Shot
Welcome to the online catalogue of the British Optical Association Museum.

Our complete accessioned collection is now available to research and enjoy. Data is transferred from our Collections Management System on a regular basis.

  • Members and the public: You can see what objects we've got. You may be surprised at the variety and depth of the collections we hold.
  • Researchers: Plan what objects you want to request from our reserve store. Identify new leads and topics to study.
  • Experts: Can you spot any obvious errors? Let us know and help us to make this resource as accurate and useful as possible. We welcome feedback about any of our records.

Enter the online objects catalogue.

If there's something you'd expect us to have but it isn't there, maybe you could donate it?

N.B. The BOA Museum was one of the first museums in the United Kingdom to have a digital image of every single item in the collection (1999). Links to thumbnail images have now been added to this catalogue (Spring 2007). Many of the more recent of these can be selected to reveal a larger image.

Disclaimer: We make every effort to ensure that our records are accurate and as up-to-date as possible. Nevertheless we urge researchers to check with us before citing this data.
