They would make an interesting talking point in the decorative scheme of any optician's practice or why not frame a couple and present them as an appropriate retirement gift?
N.B. As historic collectibles in their own right these prints are 'sold as seen'. In some cases they may have small tears or creases but the damage will not be enough to spoil your enjoyment of the item.

Magazine article
We have a limited number of back copies of the magazine distributed in the Spring of 2007 by Essilor featuring an article by Professor Colin Fowler on the College's collection of oil paintings on optical themes. Fowler's article has been translated into French, German and Spanish (the version we have to offer is the English/Spanish edition) and twelve of our paintings have been reproduced in full colour including the portrait of A Spanish Gentleman which adorns the front cover. The colour illustrations have been reproduced very well, making this a must for all art historians!
Reference: Fowler, C., 2007, 'Art and Vision: The Paintings of the British Optical Association Museum', Points de Vue (56) p38-46.
£2.00 (p+p £1.00 UK, £1.75 Overseas).

College History Book
|
Begun in 1996 by Past President Philip Cole and the late Martin Lynch, the writing of the history represented the College's very own Millennium project.
The attractive clothbound edition is well illustrated with photographs of significant events and personalities in optometry throughout the years. With photographs of many Diploma Ceremonies, College Conferences and Lectures, and other College occasions, many of our members may find themselves unexpectedly featured.
The History is any easy to read reference tool for all members of the profession and it is hoped that all College members will want their own copy.
The College of Optometrists, A History 1980-1998.
