Travel Bursaries

The aim of travel bursaries is to provide financial assistance to postgraduate students to enable them to present papers on their research at conferences. Bursaries are awarded for either poster or oral presentations.

Please note that this does not include the College of Optometrists Conference.

To be eligible for an award, students must be Fellows or Members of the College and must be undertaking a postgraduate course approved by a university for the award of a higher degree. Students may receive one bursary award during the period of their PhD only.

The College offers up to six Bursaries per year. The maximum award granted in 2008 will be £400. Payment will only be made to those successful applicants whose abstract is subsequently accepted by the relevant conference organising body.

For more information please contact Theresa Murtagh by email (theresa.murtagh@college-optometrists.org) or by phone (020 7766 4364).
