During the Academic Year the College holds a series of informative roadshows at all universities offering undergraduate optometry courses. The roadshows ensure students are fully aware of the College, the benefits of being a Member, and developments regarding the Scheme for Registration. They also provide a great networking opportunity enabling College Members and staff to meet students and gain feedback from them, and enabling students to get to know the College better.
Fresher Roadshows
A series of Fresher Roadshows will inform 1st year undergraduate students about the College’s function within the profession; how the organisation fits in with the various other optical bodies; what benefits and services are available; and the relationship they will have with the College whilst at university, during the Pre-Registration Period, and after qualifying.
A Senior Council Member will give a formal presentation and an informal Q&A session and refreshments will follow. All 1st year students will receive complimentary Fresher Packs containing various products, discounts and freebies including useful pieces of kit such as pen torches, budgie sticks and facial rules.
The next programme of Fresher Roadshows will take place in Sept/October 2010.
Final year Roadshows
We present to all final year undergraduate optometry students who are about to embark on the Scheme for Registration. The presentation is designed to help students make the transition from student to trainee to professional and outlines what trainees should expect of the Scheme.
For further information on either the Fresher Roadshows or the Pre-Registration Roadshows please contact your Undergraduate Office or call the College direct on 020 7766 4343 or 4342.
