Types of Higher Diploma

 

Five diploma syllabuses are currently available:

  • Ocular Conditions (Glaucoma A & Diabetes)
  • Rehabilitation of Visual Impairment
  • Glaucoma
  • Contact Lens Practice
  • Orthoptics

Each Certificate Assessment consists of three parts:

  • 1 hour viva on a previously submitted clinical portfolio
  • 1.5 hour, short answer, written paper consisting of 30 short answer questions covering any aspect of the syllabus
  • 1-1.5 hour Station examination including practical tasks, and/or visual recognition and interpretation of clinical symptoms.  The examiner may enter into discussion as appropriate during the examination.
