Enrolment

 

The Criteria for enrolment as a Pre-Registration trainee are:

 
1) a pass in the College’s Professional Qualifying Examination (PQE) Part I (written and/or practical)  or

at least a lower second class honours degree in optometry (2:2) which is approved by the GOC for direct entry to Pre-Registration training.

 

2) A certificate or declaration of clinical competence, issued by the degree-awarding university to graduates, or by the College to those who have passed the PQE Part I. This certificate remains valid for 2 years from the date of the award of degree (date of publication of results) or successful completion of PQE Part I ; or if more recent, the last date enrolled as a pre-registration trainee.

When you find a Pre-registration Placement

 

As soon as you find a pre-registration placement, please complete and return this form.

When you obtain your Degree Result
 

When you obtain your degree result (2:2 or above), you must complete and return the Pre-registration enrolment form (PR1 Form) as soon as possible so we can enrol you on the Scheme for Registration.
