A 31-year-old male presented to his local optometrist as an urgent appointment, complaining of sudden reduction in right eye (RE) vision on waking two days prior.

His habitual prescription and presenting visual acuity (VA) were R -2.75/-1.50 x 35 6/60 and L -2.75/-4.00 x 175 6/12 and the RE had noticeable limbal injection. The patient did not complain of any significant discomfort, but some mild photophobia. Intraocular pressure was 15mmHg R&L.
