Has the coronavirus pandemic changed optometry for good (or bad)?

Please note there is no CET for this session

With a panel of optometrists from across the country, this webinar will investigate how optometrists in Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and England have been supported differently during the pandemic and how their experience has differed. It will also look at whether the pandemic has changed perceptions of the profession in the health sector and society, and if and how optometry could change post-COVID-19.

Each panellist will share their experiences, followed by a Q&A session with questions submitted during the presentations.

The panellists are:
  • Shane Abbas Bhimani MCOptom MBCLA FBDO CL DipTp(IP) Higher Cert Glauc (England)
  • Janice McCrudden MCOptom Prof Cert Med Ret (Northen Ireland) ‘Lockdown has been a very enlightening and busy time with new ways of working being explored. It will be interesting to see which elements will stay with us as things go forward.’
  • Tim Morgan MCOptom (Wales) 'The future is not what it used to be! We are now looking to how our careers may evolve in a more open-minded manner than ever before’
  • Kathryn Trimmer MCOptom DipTp(IP) (Scotland) ‘I have never used my prescription pad so much! I learnt a lot from fellow healthcare professionals with whom I wouldn't normally interact with in such a collaborative way, so found lots of positives from a difficult situation.’
