Supervising for success

Suitable for new supervisors and those wanting to gain more experience, this webinar will help you supervise a trainee within the Scheme for Registration and understand the requirements of the Scheme and the GOC Standards for Practice. This webinar also offers guidance on communication, feedback and how to solve problems which may be encountered when supervising a trainee.

You will be able to claim one interactive CET point after attending this live session. 

Terms and conditions

  • To attend this webinar you must be a College of Optometrists' member.
  • To obtain your interactive CET point you must ensure the following standards are met, you must:
    • have a minimum attendance of 50 minutes
    • complete a minimum of 4 of the 6 polls.

CET does not apply to students and pre-registration trainees.

Sophie Harper FCOptom DipTP(IP)

Sophie Harper has worked in hospital and community optometry, most recently working at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital where she has a specialist interest in medical contact lenses, corneal clinics and acute services. She is a Fellow of the College of Optometrists by examination and more recently gained her Independent Prescribing qualification. Sophie has been a supervisor and College examiner for many years and is an experienced assessor in the North West. Currently Sophie is the College of Optometriststs' Lead Assessor.
