Case on frequency of sight tests

A child is booked for a sight test a week before they are due for their routine annual examination. I have contacted their parents to re-arrange the test. However, the child is off to boarding school and won’t be able to have the test until the end of the term if it is delayed. The child has no new symptoms and is getting on with their spectacles. It has been almost a year since their last sight test. Can I complete the sight test a few days early?
