Optometrist, Evans & Hughes Opticians, Pontarddulais

About the role

Evans & Hughes is a well-established group of five busy independent practices in market towns across Wales. Our practices are well equipped with Humphrey Field Analysers, OCTs and Fundus Photography. Our practices participate in various shared cared schemes including IPOS, diabetic retinopathy pathway, wet AMD pathway and glaucoma refinement. We have participated in several pilots throughout the years and are involved with optometry on both a local and national level, participating in LHB cluster, Regional Optical Committee and Welsh Optical Committee. By being part of our team, you can be sure that you're at the forefront of changes to how our profession continues to develop in Wales with our new contract and increasing clinical work. We currently have practices in Ammanford, Llandeilo, Lampeter, Llandovery and Pontarddulais.

We can be flexible with the number of days and practice location, and the salary will be based on the experience, qualifications and ambition of the applicant. We are now expanding and as a consequence have another opportunity for a full or part time optometrist who is enthusiastic and clinically minded to join our team. The ideal candidate will be conscientious and keen to deliver the best possible service to our patients whilst possessing commercial awareness. WECS accreditation is essential and we would support and encourage upskilling with further post graduate qualifications in line with the way optometry is rapidly evolving, especially with the new contract reform on the horizon. We have a very low turnover of staff and work as a team with the feel of a family dynamic. If this sounds like an opportunity you would be keen to consider then please do not hesitate to contact us.
