This an in-person regional event taking place in Bradford. Fully-qualified College members can attend free of charge, and the event will cover your peer review CPD requirements, offering a total of 6 CPD points. Booking is vital as spaces are limited, so secure your place now to avoid disappointment.
At the peer review, you will be assigned a table with up to ten other optometrists and participate in a facilitated discussion to review three cases.
- Each table will have an experienced facilitator who will help guide the discussion.
The case studies are Patient with reduced vision, Learning disability, Glare while driving in over 65's.

“My Best Friend’s Contact Lenses” run by Johnson & Johnson Vision
If your best friend wanted contact lenses, what would your recommendation be? Would you be able to confidently describe why one contact lens would suit their ocular health and lifestyle better than another? Using practical demonstrations, this fast-paced, 3-station session, will take a detailed look at how a patient-centred approach, factoring in lifestyle, ocular health and contact lens material properties, can help to ensure you provide optimum care for every patient.

s.1 Practitioners will appreciate the importance of asking the right questions to be able to gain a full understanding of their patients visual and lifestyle needs to be able to recommend the most appropriate contact lens.
s.2 Practitioners will appreciate how to effectively communicate contact lens recommendations with patients.
Clinical practice
s.5 Delegates will reflect on their current knowledge of contact lens materials and designs, and be able to incorporate the latest clinical research, to provide the best care for their patients.
s.7 Practitioners will appreciate the various slit lamp techniques used to examine the tear film in relation to soft contact lens wear.
