An overview of Stage Two.

Share options

Stage Two is divided into two parts.

  • A direct observation assessment (DO), made up of a modified eye examination and soft contact lens aftercare, assessed face-to-face by an assessor. The direct observation can take place in your workplace, providing you have access to a room of at least 2.5m in length.

  • An assessment of 13 overarching competencies (OA), assessed remotely

The two parts of the assessment do not have to take place on the same day, or be assessed by the same assessor.
