South West Council members

There are three Councillors representing College members in the South West. They help set and deliver the College's strategic and business plans. They also act as ambassadors for their region, sharing news, views and information between the College and their constituents.

Stephanie Campbell MCOptom
Council Member - South West

Stephanie is passionate about the benefits of a strong relationship between primary and secondary care, and has worked in both environments since qualifying in 2011 - currently as a shared care cornea optometrist in Bristol Eye Hospital, and in community practice in Bristol. As optometrist lead for the ‘neighbourhood care networks’ in Aneurin Bevan health board in south Wales, Stephanie assists the co-operation between optometrists, pharmacists, GPs - feeding into local strategies such as health board and charity initiatives for the care of older people with dementia. Stephanie has a PhD in keratoconus and is working towards becoming an independent prescribing optometrist.

Kiki Soteri MSc BSc (Hons) MCOptom Dip TP (IP)
Trustee, Vice Chair of the Education and Standards Committee, Council Member - South West

Kiki has been a member of the College since graduating in 1995. Her interests include therapeutic management of anterior eye conditions, communication, paediatric eye care, visual perception, clinical case management and the business aspects of optometry.

Kiki was a member of the team of academics that developed the BSc (Hons) Optometry at Plymouth University, and taught and assessed students on the programme. She has practiced in a range of settings across the UK. She founded and developed an independent practice in London, before moving to Devon where she is now Head of Enhanced Services at Specsavers.

Jodie Wearne MCOptom
Council Member - South West

Jodie qualified with a first-class honours degree at Cardiff University in 2015. During that time she represented her University in the College Reference Group in both first and second year. She moved to her hometown of Plymouth for pre-reg and represented the South West in the College's Pre-reg Reference Group.

Now fully qualified, Jodie works full time in Vision Express as a multi-site optometrist. Jodie also works at the University of Plymouth as a Clinical Demonstrator and is member of the junior faculty at Johnson & Johnson Institute as a STEP mentor. She was elected College Council Member for the South West region in March 2019
