A new charity has just been launched called Esme's Umbrella, to raise awareness of Charles Bonnet Syndrome. The charity was set up by Judith Potts, whose mother developed the condition after suffering from macular degeneration.

After experiencing hallucinations caused by her sight loss, getting medical advice from both her ophthalmologist and GP proved impossible, leaving her feeling isolated and unsure of what to do.

In his latest blog, our Clinical Adviser, Daniel Hardiman-McCartney, asks members to help raise awareness of this frightening condition amongst patients and relatives of those with low vision.
