COVID-19 and College events

In line with government’s current Covid - 19 guidance, we have postponed all face to face events until further notice.

We are currently looking at ways of providing assessor training remotely and will be in touch with those who have booked onto the event. Please do not travel to the venue.

Please note that we are still providing online training, including live webinars and peer discussions, and are looking to increase our provision in the near future.

Optometry Tomorrow

The College will not be running its annual conference Optometry Tomorrow in 2021. We are disappointed not to be able to run it this year but we look forward to running Optometry Tomorrow again, as soon as we practically can. Members can still access lots of online learning and book one of the events listed here.

Our face to face events provide value for College members. They allow you to:

  • meet, learn from and debate with speakers who are the experts in their field
  • keep up-to-date with the latest developments in optometry practice
  • mix with fellow professionals and build useful relationships
  • earn valuable CET points and maintain your skills and knowledge to support your continuing professional development
  • renew your motivation for your profession and career.

Our online webinars and peer discussions also offer:

  • flexible ways to learn
  • interactive CET points.

If you are interested in sponsoring an event, please contact Julie Hawkins, Head of Events, 020 7766 4343.

Diploma Ceremony

Central Hall Westminster is the perfect backdrop for our annual Diploma Ceremony, where we welcome new optometrists to the profession, and applaud the achievements of some of the most talented practitioners, researchers and academics working in eye health care today.

Your feedback

My favourite benefit would be the free regional events.  It would be difficult to find other events where they have such notable speakers and hold such in-depth peer review sessions where the facilitators really challenge you.

Kiran Bola MCOptom

Interesting lecture, facilitator was very good and case studies were well thought out.

Delegate, Northern Ireland Regional Event

I have never done a peer review before and having been on a career break and out of practice for 8 years, I was quite apprehensive about the discussion. However, I felt very well accepted and really enjoyed the discussions, I feel a lot more confident now.

Delegate, East Midlands Regional Event

Webinars are a great way to refresh knowledge and I finish feeling it was worth my time in doing.
