Scheme for Registration

Scheme for Registration

The Scheme for Registration helps you to develop your skills and knowledge in the workplace. It is your route to becoming a fully qualified optometrist and is approved by the General Optical Council.

There are three parts to the Scheme: Stage One, Stage Two and the OSCE, and you have 2 years and 3 months to complete the Scheme, although many trainees complete it in 15 months. Watch our video for more information.

With the support of your supervisor, the stages of the Scheme are designed to provide you with all the experiences, skills, and patient encounter numbers you need to successfully complete the OSCE.
