Salary: £60,000-£75,000 (pro-rata), negotiable depending upon experience
Working hours: This position is full-time but would consider part-time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Clinical Optometrist with a specialist interest in glaucoma to join the team at iSIGHT Clinics, working across both our Southport and Ormskirk clinics. The post holder will mainly be working within the glaucoma service but will be expected to work in face-to-face and virtual review clinics across a variety of sub-specialties within ophthalmology, as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering care to patients. This will involve clinical assessment, treatment and evaluation of the patients’ condition.
The successful candidate will be a fully qualified optometrist and have a higher certificate or diploma in glaucoma (level 2) and level 3 is desirable, along with an independent prescribing qualification. Where appropriate the post holder should be involved in the delivery of further extended surgical roles within the ophthalmology service such as Selective LASER Trabeculoplasty, YAG LASER Peripheral Iridotomy and YAG capsulotomies.
Alongside the mandatory qualifications the following are required:
- previous hospital eye service or private eye clinic experience (essential)
- knowledge of clinical practice and aware of current developments in optometry
- able to work efficiently whilst maintaining excellent clinical standards within a busy ophthalmology clinic
- experience of delivering consistently high standards of specialist optometric diagnostic tests using complex equipment.

- a competent user of computer systems and programmes
- knowledge of EMIS web, electronic patient record, (desirable)
- an excellent grasp of the English language both verbally and in written format (essential)
- UK full driving license and transportation (essential)
