We are a busy, well-established premium independent practice with a loyal patient base, and we are looking for someone who shares our commitment to providing a personal and exceptional standard of patient care.

We are looking for a motivated and patient-focused Optometrist to join our established premium independent practice in North Cardiff. You will be working in a well-equipped practice alongside three Optometrists, two Dispensing Opticians and a dedicated team of support staff.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Optometrist who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and would like to further develop their clinical skills within an independent practice environment.

Essential qualifications and skills

• Qualified Optometrist, registered with the General Optical Council (GOC).
• Excellent clinical, diagnostic and decision-making skills.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-centred approach.
• A genuine commitment to enhancing the patient experience and delivering exceptional standards of care.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a wider team.
• Experience of using industry-standard ophthalmic equipment and electronic patient record systems.
• Ability to maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive clinical records.
• Commitment to continuing professional development and evidence-based practice.
• Enthusiasm for learning new skills and developing expertise in areas including dry eye management, specialist contact lenses and WGOS 4 and WGOS 5 additional services.
• A positive attitude, willingness to learn and an excellent manner with patients.

Desirable skills and qualifications

• Independent Prescribing (IP) qualification.
• College of Optometrists higher qualifications or additional experience in medical retina and/or glaucoma.
