Optometrist, University of Lancashire, Preston

The University of Lancashire is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic optometrist to join our Vision Sciences team as Senior Lecturer in Optometry and Ophthalmic Dispensing and Clinic Lead. This is an exciting opportunity to combine academic leadership, high-quality teaching and clinical expertise. You will help shape the delivery and development of our optometry and ophthalmic dispensing provision while providing academic leadership within the University’s Eye Health Clinic.

The role 
Working collaboratively with colleagues across Vision Sciences and the wider School, you will: 

• teach across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including at master’s level
• provide academic leadership within the Eye Health Clinic
• contribute to course delivery, management and curriculum development
• lead and support identified modules, including assessment and associated academic administration
• enhance the student experience through engaging teaching, learning support and academic leadership
• contribute to research, scholarly activity, knowledge exchange and external engagement
• support student recruitment and provide advice on progression and career opportunities
• develop productive relationships with professional bodies, employers and other external organisations
• contribute to quality assurance and enhancement activity
• represent and promote the University and its programmes at relevant local and national events
