Senior Lecturer in Optometry, Teesside University, Middlesbrough

The School of Health & Life Sciences at Teesside University, home to the only Optometry programme in the North East of England, is committed to delivering high quality education, research and professional practice that makes a positive difference to students, patients and local communities. The Optometry team is entering an exciting phase of growth, supported by the development of the Teesside University Centre for Community Eye Health, which will provide new opportunities for innovation in clinical education, community outreach and service delivery. Through strong partnerships and a commitment to reducing health inequalities, the School is helping to improve access to eye care across the region while preparing the next generation of optometrists for a rapidly evolving profession.

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Optometry to contribute to teaching, scholarly activity, professional practice, knowledge exchange, business engagement and associated academic administration. The successful candidate will help shape the future development of Optometry at Teesside University, supporting both uni-professional and interprofessional learning activities. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of the Centre for Community Eye Health, working with colleagues, students and external stakeholders to enhance education, clinical practice and community impact.
