Exploring nature

Calling all nature lovers! The Telford area has some fantastic scenic routes for you to experience.

The Wrekin is one of the most famous natural landmarks in the area. If you are interested in a lovely view, head up to the top of the hill!

Up for a forest explore? Head to Apley Woods or The Ercall to find yourself surrounded by the natural flora and fauna.

Don't forget to keep a lookout for the wild garlic and flowering bluebells as you wander through Limekiln Woods!

Avid foodies

Head to The Elephant Crossing for lunch with a view. Enjoy some of the tapas-style dishes while overlooking the Ironbridge.

The Haughmond was included in the 2023 Michelin Guide - don't pass up the opportunity to experience this very popular pub restaurant!

Visit the Rodington Vineyard to taste the fruits of this family run business' labour. If you're after a historical twist to your vineyard tour, check out the Wroxeter Roman Vineyard.

It would not be a visit to Telford without swinging past The Fox in Newport. We recommend the sweet potato tagine pie!

Bringing the family?

There's something for everyone in the Telford area.

If you're bringing your family along with you, first on the list must be a visit to the alpacas at Frankly Alpacas! We've heard they are very friendly (and love a photo).

Discover Telford's Wonderland with lots of characters to meet along the way! Lose yourself amongst the magical forest activities that will pull you into the world of Alice in Wonderland.

The Telford Town Park is full of fun activities for all ages. From swinging through the trees to playing a round of adventure golf, there is a lot to choose from!

Check out the Enginuity Museum for lots of hands-on science fun! For the future engineer in your family, there's lots to learn here.

History enthusiasts

The famous Iron Bridge is a must-see! Known for being the world's first iron bridge, this Telford landmark is located in an area named the "Valley of Invention." There would be no inventing without the proper nutrients - make sure to grab a snack from one of the many nearby shops before you wander across the bridge.

Step back in time and explore the Blists Hill Victorian Town. Here you'll be able to explore odd remedies at the old Pharmacy, take a ride on the little train through the Blists Hill Mine, and try your luck at the old-fashioned fairground.

Explore the picturesque remains of the Buildwas Abbey. While there, you can learn about the rich history of the abbey, which was founded in 1135.

Leisure activities

One thing to note about Telford is that there is an abundance of golf courses to choose from. Don't believe us? Just take a look at only some of the options available to you:

Golf's not your thing? Not to worry, there's also the Telford Spa to relax your stresses away in an indulgent experience.
