Staying organised during your degree
To stay organised during your degree, plan ahead and keep a clear structure for what you need to do.
Having a clear timeline is key for staying on top of assignments, exams, and deadlines
For example, you can skim your lecture notes before each lecture to get a rough idea of the main topics, which makes it easier to follow along in class and gives you a head start for revision later. Personally, I like to do most of the preparation work for lectures and clinics over the weekend, while using weekdays to ask questions and sort out anything I didn’t fully understand during school.
Having a clear timeline is key for staying on top of assignments, exams, and deadlines, so try to finish tasks a few days before the solid deadline; that extra buffer gives you time to review, proofread, and make improvements before final submission.
Just as important: staying organised doesn’t mean only working!
Your university life also includes a social life and extra-curricular activities! Treat them like fuel that recharges you after long study days and make a point to schedule some fun once or twice a week. Ultimately, good organisation is about balancing productivity with relaxation and taking care of your well-being.
