The future of optometric education

We have responded to the GOC’s proposals for the future of pre-registration optometry education as part of their Education Strategic Review, and have written directly to the GOC outlining our feedback on their proposals.

We believe that pre-registration optometry education needs to change to reflect developments in practice, and that the College has a key role to play in leading this change. However, the timeframe for implementing the Education Strategic Review must be realistic, and cannot be set until there is clarity on costs and funding arrangements.
