Increasing demand for intravitreal injections to treat conditions such as wet AMD provides an opportunity for optometrists to widen their portfolio of skills, writes Kim Thomas.
Part of the success of the COVID-19 vaccination programme was down to the many optometrists and other healthcare professionals who helped deliver the vaccine. Now the programme is nearing its end, could optometrists use their newly acquired skills to take on another role – that of intravitreal injector?
