Why did you choose optometry as a career?
My father was highly myopic, and I began wearing glasses as a teenager. My daily route to secondary school took me past the Birmingham Royal Institution for the Blind. That planted a seed. During sixth form, my school arranged trips to Birmingham and Aston universities. One visit was to Aston Optometry School, which I found really interesting.
