This article deals with estimating the magnifying powers of the ophthalmoscopy lens.

Introduction 

With the very much increased use of slit-lamp indirect ophthalmoscopy, there is a need to know the magnification given by the ophthalmoscopy lens (termed often, but badly, the condensing lens). This lens is frequently called the Volk lens after the name of the most popular brand.
