We’re looking for a qualified optometrist to join our team and help us care for our growing patient community in Orkney. This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll deliver exceptional care across a diverse caseload, supported by a close-knit team and modern clinical technology, including OCT imaging.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Conducting detailed eye examinations to detect vision defects, eye abnormalities, injuries, or disease
- Using OCT imaging and other diagnostic tools to support accurate assessment
- Taking comprehensive medical histories and listening carefully to patients’ concerns
- Offering clear, practical advice on eye health and vision care
- Monitoring and managing ongoing eye conditions and delivering outstanding aftercare
- Recognising signs of general health issues such as diabetes or liver disease through eye health assessments
- Contributing to the retail side of the practice, including advising on and selling vision care products
- Collaborating with fellow optometrists and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, patient-centred care
We’re looking for an experienced and detail-oriented optometrist who combines clinical excellence with a warm, compassionate approach to patient care.
