We have a single independent practice on the outskirts of Liverpool. There aren't any targets and we won't be looking at prescribing rates. It is very busy, always fully booked, but there is tremendous support from two full time Dispensing Opticians. There is an extremely friendly and casual atmosphere. Patients frequently comment on what an enjoyable experience they have had. We don't do any advertising and just rely on patient recommendations.

We are looking for someone to work one day per week initially as John is starting to reduce his hours towards retirement. Currently we have one Optometrist working Mondays who has been with us for a number of years. John works Tues-Sat and we are looking for someone to do one of those days. We have a mainly older patient base and mainly people on benefits although we do have high end dispensing as well with a good selection of designer frames. 25 minute intervals first test 9.10 last 4.25 with 40 mins for lunch. Paper records and you will need to sign off sight tests and fill in vouchers on the PCSE Equipment includes auto refractor, fundus camera, OCT, slit lamp camera. The role isn't really suitable for newly qualified, ideally we would like someone with 10 years or more experience in busy practices although we can be flexible on this for the right candidate.
