About the role

This new post provides a rare opportunity to lead and develop internationally relevant teaching and research in Optometry and Vision Sciences at Cardiff University. We pride ourselves on providing a dynamic and stimulating learning environment informed by our excellent clinical and basic science research.  

We are particularly keen to receive applications from individuals who have leadership qualities that will positively influence our research and teaching programmes and who can provide mentorship to staff. Therefore, if you are a highly motivated and forward-thinking GOC-registered (or GOC eligible) optometrist who has a genuine passion for senior academic leadership in teaching and research, this role is for you.

The School of Optometry and Vision Sciences is proud to be internationally recognised for the quality of its teaching and research. 91% of the School’s output was judged to be internationally excellent in the Research Excellence Framework 2021. The successful candidate will work alongside internationally renowned experts in their field in a £20M purpose-designed building, which brings together teaching, patient-facing clinics and research.
