This review considers the effects that both endogenous and exogenous hormones have upon the eye. It focuses upon the systemic hormones (as opposed to local hormones such as the prostaglandins, which play a role in modulating intraocular pressure) including those released from the thyroid gland, the pancreas, the adrenal glands and the gonads, particularly the ovaries.
