1 February 2007
Volume 08, Issue 1
Caroline Christie and Ron Beerten discuss keratoconus in relation to current concepts of presbyopic correction with contact lenses.
Introduction
The onset of presbyopia creates a wealth of patients looking for alternatives to spectacles. Reading glasses are seen as an admission of ageing and a step back from what and where patients used to be. It is a misconception that bifocal/multifocal contact lenses do not work and are difficult to fit. However, it is challenging and sometimes confusing to manage all the options for the correction of presbyopia with the seemingly vast range of contact lenses available today. The secret of success is to find the right design for the right patient.
