In this article we discuss the traditional Hospital Eye Service (HES) clinic and more recent community-based low vision care pathways. Finally we consider the future development of low vision services, and the requirement for evidence-based trials to permit informed decisions to be reached about not only the method of delivery of such services but also the content of low vision rehabilitation.
