Bringing OCT to the forefront: interpretation of the anterior chamber (for more experienced users) 1

Description: This discussion workshop, for experienced users, brings OCT to the forefront by focusing on the anterior chamber. Together with demonstrating how to identify essential anatomical components of the eye within OCT scans, this engaging session takes the next step to understand how scan interpretation and biometrics data can assist clinical decision making around appropriate referral for pathology involving the cornea, iris and irido-corneal angle. Consideration is also given to effectively communicate the outcomes to patients in a patient centred manner. Target professional groups: Optometrist

Adam Wannell MSc MCOptom DipTp(IP) DipGlauc Prof Cert Med Ret

Adam is Head of Clinical Programme Development for Newmedica, leading on all aspects of clinical training and assessment with responsibilities for developing clinical pathways alongside the associated resources to implement them. Together with being a former medical optometrist in Bristol Eye Hospital, he has worked in a wide range of clinical settings over a 25-year career including community optometry, undergraduate teaching clinics and post-graduate education. A passionate advocate of further clinical development, Adam has built a reputation for delivering engaging and informative educational sessions applicable to clinical practice. He holds several postgraduate optometry qualifications and is an independent prescriber.
