LECTURE: Technology to enhance outcome in specialist clinic - Topcon (Great Britain) Medical Ltd

Description: The lecture will reflect on the concept of how to gather the most appropriate patient data in order to provide enhanced clinics in primary care practice, in particular reference to specialist dry eye clinics and myopia management clinics. It will review the latest devices available and discuss how to interpret the data in a meaningful and practical way. It will also review how to use data to engage in good patient education and compliance with proposed treatment options.

Sarah Farrant BSc MCOptom DipTp(IP) DipTPAS

Sarah Farrant owns and works in an independent practice in a specialist practice within a GP surgery managing eye disease in Somerset. She has a particular interest in dry eye and therapeutics and lectures widely in these subjects. She acts as a consultant to a number of contact lens and ophthalmic companies. She is chair of the Somerset Local Optical Committee and was the lead optometrist for setting up an acute eye service in Somerset. Sarah sits on the College of Optometrists Council and is a member of the Research Committee.
