This workshop aims to shift the focus of contact lens selection from eye care professional lens preferences to a patient-centric approach based on individual needs. By recognising the diverse factors and ever advancing technology that influence contact lens suitability, eye care professionals can enhance patient satisfaction, visual outcomes, and overall eye health leading to a lifetime of wear in lenses.

Learning outcomes

Communication

  • An understanding of the advancements in technology, including multifocal toric and monovision contact lenses, and the ability to explain the advantages and disadvantages of these methods to the patient. (s.2)
  • An understanding of how lifestyle needs contribute to lens selection as well ocular health to achieve long term successful contact lens wear (s.1).

Speaker

Eve Lambert

Eve is a Contact Lens Optician in Southwest of England, previously an ABDO tutor for both the dispensing optician and contact lens qualification, and was awarded Dispensing Optician of the Year 2010 for work completed in training and developing practice retail colleagues. 

Joining Coopervision in 2020, Eve has recently moved into the Professional Affairs team from the sales team where she enjoys works closely with businesses and eye care practitioners to support them with their contact lens category growth plans.
