  • To identify common ocular problems following cataract surgery. To communicate with patients and describe to them how to treat the pathology. To understand common methods and treatments of such complications.

Clinical practice

  • To identify clinical signs and symptoms of post-operative complications. To understand appropriate techniques to diagnose post-operative complications. To discuss various treatment methods for post-operative complications.

Specialty CPD - AS/SP/IP optometrist

  • To understand the prescribing strategy and medical management using POMs, of the more common post-op cataract complications such as uveitis and cystoid macular oedema.

Tom Critchley BSc MCOptom DipTp(IP)

Tom Critchley is the Principal Optometrist for SpaMedica. He is a strong advocate for the optometry profession, being passionate to ensure all patients are treated with clinical excellence and compassion. Tom has worked in the cataract and refractive field for over fifteen years, and uses that experience to lead the training for his large team of optometrists to ensure they continue his high standards.

Kamini Mistry BSc MCOptom Prof Cert Med Ret Prof Cert Glauc

Kamini is a fully qualified and knowledgeable optometrist with experience in NHS and Private cataract surgery as well as YAG capsulotomy consultations & treatment.

She also has a background in high street optometric practice. She has a proven academic record and a broad range of skills with further qualifications in Medical Retina and Glaucoma. Kamini strives to provide the best patient care and make a positive impact in eye health services.
