Optometry Tomorrow FAQs

The College, BCLA and the venue will follow all government guidance in place at the time of the event. The exhibition hall is large and airy and the session rooms all have units that pull air from outside. If you’d like more detailed, technical information please email events@college-optometrists.org

Your ticket includes attendance at lectures, seminars, workshops (as per the ticket terms), sponsor sessions (as per the ticket terms), a peer review (as per the ticket terms), lunch, refreshments and the trade exhibition. Your ticket also includes entrance to OptomFest taking place on Sunday evening 6-7.15pm.

Yes – your receipt was attached to your booking confirmation email. If you need it re-sent please email events@college-optometrists.org. We are using an external platform to take registrations so you will not see your invoice or receipt in your MyCollege area.

Conference tickets are VAT exempt.

In the event of registration cancellation, notice must be given in writing at least 10 working days before the event via email to events@college-optometrists.org. Such notice will not be deemed as received unless the College has issued an acknowledgement to the delegate. Cancellation made within 48 hours of purchasing will be eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made after this point, and before Friday 12 April 2024 will incur a 25% cancellation fee. Please note, no refunds will be provided if a delegate cancels after Friday 12 April 2024.

If you must cancel your registration, we welcome a substitute delegate to attend in your place. Please email the College Events team via email to events@college-optometrists.org as soon as possible if you intend to move forward with the substitute delegate option. Please advise of this substitution by no later than Friday 19 April 2024, and please ensure you provide your contact details and the contact details of the delegate who will be taking over your conference registration.

All of the therapeutics sessions will be delivered as seminars (except the peer review session).

We brief the presenters within this stream to aim the sessions at those who are IP-qualified. The only session which is restricted to only IP-qualified members, is the therapeutics peer review session. Please note: only College members with the IP qualification (or are studying towards it) are permitted to attend the peer review. If you have any queries about the therapeutics stream, please contact events@college-optometrists.org.

We will not be adding more spaces to sessions before the event. We have introduced a maximum number of workshops per booking to ensure fairness. We may have waiting lists in operation before the event - the booking system will indicate whether a session is full or the waiting list is open.

On average, you can gain 15 interactive CPD points with the two-day member ticket (depending on availability of sessions). If you choose to attend for one day only, you can gain a minimum of six points on each day (more if you purchase workshops or a peer review).

  • All lectures and seminars are worth one interactive CPD point (unless otherwise stated)
  • All workshops and peer review sessions are worth three interactive CPD points (unless otherwise stated)
  • The interactive exhibitor sessions are worth 2 interactive CPD points

The number of CPD points for sponsor sessions vary depending on the format. The programme, once published, outlines how many CPD points the session is worth. The full programme will be announced later in the year.

It is now the responsibility of the registrant to log their own learning within their MyCPD account. After the event you will receive an email which will act as your proof of completion which you can use for evidence of attending the session.

Your final event details will be emailed to you around the middle of April 2024. If you have a specific question that you cannot find the answer for on our website please email events@college-optometrists.org.

The exhibition has grown year-on-year. We expect approximately 35 organisations to have stands at the exhibition.
