We use the information provided to ensure that your concern is handled correctly and will determine whether the appeals or complaints processes should be followed, or whether we can simply rectify the matter, and respond by email to advise of next steps.

Appeals
If we determine that a material error (such as an administrative mistake) has occurred during your assessment we will correct this without requiring a full appeal. More complex circumstances will require a submission to the appeals panel https://www.college-optometrists.org/qualifying/scheme-for-registration/sfr-additional-information/advice-and-support/appeals-and-complaints. In either case the assessment outcome cannot be overturned, but you may be offered a no-cost resit, or an additional visit at the same visit number (Stage 1, visits 1-4). These will typically take around 4-6 weeks to arrange.
