College’s Director of Education appointed to optometry benchmark review group

Subject Benchmark Statements describe what graduates might reasonably be expected to know, do and understand at the end of their studies. They are written by subject specialists and provide general guidance and reference points for the design, delivery and review of academic programmes. The QAA facilitates this process. 

The upcoming review of the optometry SBS will reflect the changes in expectations of optometry degree programmes introduced by the GOC’s ETR, as well as the changing needs and nature of the profession.
