The new partnership takes OPO into its second century of publication and underscores the College’s ongoing commitment to research and innovation that supports and advances the optometric profession.

Over a hundred years of research

It is read and cited internationally and provides a key resource for optometrists, other eye health clinicians, and educators seeking high quality evidence to support their clinical education and practice, as well as a vital route for clinical and academic researchers to publish their work.

Ophthalmic and Physiological Optics (OPO) has been at the forefront of publishing research that advances knowledge in optometry and eye health and shapes clinical practice for over 100 years. We’re pleased to enter our second century of publication by partnering with Springer Nature to support the next generation of academics, researchers and clinicians in the field of optometry."

Michael Bowen, Director of Knowledge and Research at The College of Optometrists

“With 400,000 readers across the world, OPO is a leading resource for optometrists seeking high quality evidence to support their clinical practice, and a vital route for clinical and academic researchers to publish their work on contemporary vision science and optometry. We are delighted to publish volume 46 with Springer Nature.”
