Recent years have seen a dramatic shift towards online working and studying and there are both benefits and drawbacks to remote working. Something that can’t be fully replicated online however is the human touch – the face-to-face meeting where we engage with colleagues in an exchange of ideas with the added bonus of personal interaction.

Anecdotally, that’s what many workers say they missed the most from enforced working from home during lockdown – the chance to bounce ideas off colleagues, and brainstorm with them.

And when we are learning new techniques, it can be frustrating persevering on our own, following written instructions. It is so much easier to have a colleague by our side to demonstrate and guide us.
